If you want to be a cave diver this Extended Range Cavern course is the starting point.
The SSI Extended Range Cavern Diving program gives you a look into the shadow/dark world of cavern and cave diving. As an SSI Extended Range Cavern diver, you will learn how to use cavern diving equipment, gas management concepts, and buddy team skills to safely conduct cavern penetration dives. The SSI Extended Range Cavern Diving program trains you to dive in caverns within the daylight zone to a maximum depth of 130ft. Cost includes: e-learning, classroom training, pool traing, cavern dive training
Student Prerequisites:
- at least 24 total dives
- Advanced Open Water Diver or equivalent
For students using a doubles/twinsets configuration (in addition to the above):
Have at least one (1) of the following SSI certifications or an equivalent from a recognized training agency:
- Extended Range Foundations ( Twinset)
- Extended Range
For students using a sidemount configuration (in addition to the above):
Have the following SSI certifications or an equivalent from a recognized training agency:
- Recreational Sidemount Diving or Tech Sidemount
For students using a CCR or SCR unit (in addition to the above):
Have logged at least:
- at least 30 hours on the applicable unit and certified on that unit
